Teachers, as the transmitters and doers of the teaching ideas, are to carry out theconcrete teaching work in a school. So the teachers'understanding of the schoolingideology and their teaching practice determines the school level. Above all, it is anessential task to better the group teachers in order to raise the teaching level andimprove the quality of education. Hence, the importance of teacher cultivation anddevelopment is emphasized in kinds of schools at different levels. Generally speaking,in our country the non-governmental schools have a shorter history and less excellentgroup teachers, and the quality of the teachers is relatively poorer. In addition, due tosuch problems as the different opinions and lack of fund, the formalities and systemsto build up a group of quality teachers are to be improved. Referring to its ownteaching practice and experience, Siyang Zhiyuan High School in Jiangsu Province, anewly-born non-governmental school, has formed a set of effective methods tocultivate and develop the teachers by demonstrating the ideas as a breakthrough,improving the teaching skills as a measure and building the inspiring systems as aguarantee. The school and the teachers, therefore, develop hand in hand with theteaching work and quality of education improved continuously, which has laidfoundation for the school continuable development. This thesis carries out an overallobservation on the concrete practice of teacher cultivation and development, fromwhich some conclusions are drawn. In the thesis the writer advocates that the teachers'opinions should be changed in advance of teacher cultivation and development, andthe emphasis should be laid on inspiring the teachers'motivation to developthemselves. Also, instead of inhibiting and controlling the teachers, the school systemsshould incarnate humanism so that they are instructive and inspiring to create arelaxing atmosphere for the teacher development. The harmonious relationshipbetween people and the moderate competition based on cooperation reveal the schoolculture in accord with the modern administration trend that moves from system toculture. At the same time, the writer had some reflective thinking on the teachertraining work according to his own experiences, and put forward some beneficialviews, which will probably be of some value and use for the similar work anddevelopment of other non-governmental schools.
