Independent college is a new educational pattern to make full use of the high-quality higher educational resources and social funds of our country in the last few years. In recent years, independent college has developed quickly in educational scales and quality due to its flexible mode and favored policy, which contributed much to the higher education in our country. However, there are some problems for different independent college. There are several cooperate modes between independent college applicant and funding copartner. Some modes run well, but some don't."Famous university + government"independent college, which is a combination of excellent educational resources of mother university and advantageous political and economic resources of local government, has many advantages compared by other cooperate modes. At present, great success has been achieved for almost all"Famous university + government"independent colleges. Therefore, it is significant to summarize its developing experiences and lessons and to study its future goals and strategies.In this thesis, the history background, developing situations and basic features of independent college were described. The special advantages of"Famous university + government"independent college, that is, advantages of famous brand from mother university and bountiful resources from local government, were analyzed. At the same time, taking an example of Zhongshan college of UESTC, some educational characteristics and achievements of this kind of independent college were shown.Finally, the future goals and strategies of"Famous university + government"independent college were discussed based on its existing problems, including intension developing strategy, diversity developing strategy and sample reputation stragegy. Five measures were proposed to ensure the realization of the strategies, namely, refining the thought of education, building famous majors, constructing excellent courses, training outstanding teachers and cultivating versed and professional students.
