For those college graduates, when they first go to their work, besides merging into the organization generally, they need more to adapt to the transition both from 'School to Work' on environment and from 'Student to Worker' on roles. It has special significance to complete the dual task. This thesis aims to start from the individual experience of college graduates who have about one year working practice. Attention will be focused on the following aspects: 1) What's the difference between 'School to Work'? 2) How do college graduates transfer from 'Student to Worker'? 3) What's the experience druing their transition?Based on reviewing the theory of School to Work Transition and Organizational Socialization, this work applies the Qualitative Rearch Method and takes several graduates from Fudan University as study object. Particularly among the object, five graduates are focus group interviewed while ten other graduates are depth interviewed. By means of computer aided software, arranging and analyzing are conducted on the interview information. The result indicats that there are significant differences between school and work from those graduates standpoints. The differences mainly embodies in the contract relationship with environment, tasks and requirements, responsibilities and pressure, evaluation criteria and feedback mechanism, interpersonal relationship, life diversification and so on. In addtion, the usual process is essential to convert from student to worker for college graduates, namely expectation formation, observing and recognizing environment, adjustment, acceptance(conditional or unconditional) or exit.The innovative research can be summarized as four parts:The first part contains the first and second chapters of this thesis. It mainly focuses on the research issues, research purpose and significance and reference review.The second part is the third chapter of this thesis. It mainly discusses qualitative rearch method, research object, sample method, collecting and analyzing reference, research validation, reliability and ethics.The third part is the fourth and fifth chapter of this thesis. As the main body, it compares and analyzes the differences between school and work and roles conversion process from student to worker.The final part is the sixth chapter of this thesis. It summarizes the whole research conclusions and points out the limitations and future research direction.
