Information technology has been permeated into all aspects of social life.Education is no exception.Information technology,with the computer and network as a representative,will not only greatly change the form of education and learning style.More important,it will cast profound effect on educational thoughts,ideas,patterns,contents and methods.Therefore,all countries are trying to realize education informatization.China is unwilling to lag behind.With the great attention from the State and governments at all levels,departments of education administration and all circles of the society,China attaches great progress on elementary education informatization.The large-scale investment basically solved the problem of instruction of the information infrastructure.But more and more investigation and research found in complete hardware construction,information technology has not,as expected, comprehensively revolute education and teaching.More and more people begin to pay close attention to effectiveness of information technology application in basic education.However,due to the complexity of the problem,there are few convincing results.Educational ecology research tries to study educational problems from the perspective of ecology,providing a new perspective for education research.This research,based on reviews on the theory of education ecology and in view of the current situation of the information technology application in elementary education,discussed from the angle of ecology the process of information technology application in elementary education.Firstly,the article reviews,summarizes the related researches and theories of educational ecology.Then,in order to identify the current situation of information technology application,a field research and survey were conducted with the sample of several representative schools selected from local area.On this basis,from the angle of ecology,the article applied the theory of ecology to analyze characteristics of the school ecological system and information technology factor,and to discuss the process of information technology application in primary and middle schools.The dissertation considered that it is a slow "evolutionary" process that information technology is applied effectively in primary education.It demands the school system itself and information technology to make some changes to for mutual adaptation.Therefore,some time should be given to new things,and new practices should keep closely relationship with current teaching practices.And enough supports should be provided to teachers,also the school itself need to make some adjustment gradually.Therefore,the goal of "promotion teaching and learning with information technology" can be achieved.
