Cuba And Cba Basketball Cultural Dimensions Of A Comparative Study

CUBA(Chinese University Basketball Association) is the first special league match,which is university oriented and society oriented,adopting socialization and industrialization operation pattern and aiming to developing high quality and high level basket talents.Chinese Basketball Association(CBA) represents the highest level of Chinese basketball and has the same china cultural background of CUBA.In contrast with CUBA,CBA has a longer history of development process and has a more perfect match operation mode and marketing mode,which mainly lies in its material culture,institute culture and spirit culture.While stick to the special culture of itself,CUBA,representing the highest level of Chinese college basketball,can use the advanced development and operation idea of CBA to be more standardized and professionalized,industrialized and socialized and have further promotion based on the current development level.By the methods of literature review,comparative analysis,expert interviews and other research methods,CBA and CUBA league match were studied.The factors that influenced CBA and CUBA basketball culture were probed and compared.It came to the conclusions that:(1)CBA have advanced basketball stadiums and gyms that located in big and medium-sized political and economical cities.Compared with the CBA stadiums and gyms,CUBA's stadiums and gyms are comparatively backward and located in relatively backward regions.It have disadvantageous for CAB's promotion.(2)In order to maximize the market benefit,CBA have established its own brand and take the way of commercialization.CUBA's brand image can show its basketball cultural connotation to college students but can't function according to commercial and market principle which can't guarantee a sustainable development.(3)There are some shortcomings of league match management that affect its healthy development which includes the following aspects:the establishment of policies and regulations is unscientific,the institution is unreasonable,the qualifications examination is not strict enough and the penalties principle is not tough enough.(4)CBA have high level coaches and players at home and abroad.But the selection range of CUBA's coaches and players is relatively limited by the present institution and it is hard to improve its technical and tactical level as a result.(5)The number of CBA certified referees is large than CBA's.And The level certified referees of CBA is relatively higher than CUBA's too,which affect the fairness of the matches.(6)CUBA's match system includes three stages which are grassroots preselection match,district match and top eight team match.So the match season lasts a very long time.The number of participating teams is relatively huge and there are big gaps between them,so CUBA can't select the top eight teams effectively.These are disadvantageous for the culture exchange between schools and regions and have a bad impact on the CUBA league's development.By contrast, CBA's host-guest match system has obvious advantage.(7)CUBA's baby basketball and cheerleaders are high educated college students who have better cultural foundation than CBA's,but their performance form and level can't show the positive enthusiasm and vibrant and healthy outlook of modern students and can't mobilize the enthusiasm of the CUBA fans.In order to enhance the cultural atmosphere of games and improve team morale,CUBA should use the match performance form of CBA or NBA for reference.(8)CBA has professional television broadcasting technology that can display rich information. Compared with CBA,CUBA can't make full use of network technology and television broadcasting technology to transmit university basketball culture to highlight its social influence.
