Harmonious Society, As The Threshold Of Higher Education In Regional Co-ordinate Development

Constructing a beautiful and harmonious society is a social ideal of mankind who seeks assiduously all the time and it is also a practical process of social development and progress, meantime it is an unremitting value-pursuit of Chinese Communist Party and Chinese people. A harmonious society is made up by harmonious people who have been schooled by harmonious education. As a result of this, higher education belonging to the highest phase of educational system which aims to cultivate, shape and develop a person, beyond any doubt, has a close logical connection with the construction of harmonious society. The harmonious development of higher education related to the development of social harmony and stability.The present regional overall planning of higher education has the following functions during the current process of building harmonious society. It has the political function of shaping educational fair and quickening social democracy; it has the economic function of balancing the construction of higher institution, increasing human capital and coordinating regional economic development; it has the cultural function of integrating cultural heritage, settling the high cultural gene of society and upgrading the whole national quality; and it has the social function of perfecting state order and promoting social harmony and prosperity.As a matter of fact, our country's regional development of higher education exists many problems, such as, unbalanced investment of educational funds, distinct gap of comprehensive strength in running school, unharmonious development scale and unfair mechanism of college entrance examination. All the above problems lead to current state of regional unbalance which badly affects the implementation of human-oriented concept and all-round development of all members of the society. Therefore, it brings on a great of brain drain in underdeveloped area and goes against harmonious development of regional economy.Nowadays,higher education play a central role of power source in the new economically social structure. Overall-planning regional development of higher education has become extremely important and imperative because of its strategic position and overall influence. The unbalance of higher education not only restricts the development of higher education itself but also confines its functions in building well-off society and constructing harmonious society. Furthermore, this kind of unbalance has restricted our country's sustainable development and society's overall progress, and it could be a hidden threat to the harmony and stability of society.In view of the above mentioned, this thesis, based on deeply analysing and summarizing the causes which lead to the current situation, offers two suggestions about how to orchestrate higher educational development in order to constructing a harmonious society from the two sides of concept and concrete measure. That is: firstly, following the human-oriented concept, co-existing the universality and individuality, compensating the weak point to orchestrate the sustainable development; secondly, practically implementing regional overall planning development of economy, strengthening national policy guide and legal stipulations, lifting underdeveloped area's competitive capacity and enhancing the practical path of developed area's assistance and cooperation.
