The scinence and technology, knowledge-based economy are developing quickly in 21st century,and the international competition is also increasingly fierce. It need new type of talent to deal with international competition in the new century. The society request to talent,at the same time give a new challenge to education. The history education faced tough questions in particular. Varioous countries have developed a new round of curriculum reform to facel with this situation, one of Britain's history curriculum reform is more successful.The school education in Britain had proceed to a profound change from the early 90's in the last century to now, which divided into four key stages:they are 1991,1995,1999 and 2008. In 1991 British Ministry of Education and Science issued a history syllabus, that is, "national curriculum".It was implemented in August. The structure of the "national curriculum" is simple, there are two elements: one is the provisions of the achievement goals, another is a list of curriculum content. It set history lesson at the first stage to fourth stage (5 years old -16 years old) are compulsory. After four years of teaching practice and experience,in 1995 Britain had revised the "national curriculum" on the basis of 1991. It changed the four stages of obligatory course into three stages, while the fourth stage for the elective course. The structure is more tight, each stage of the study plan is divided into curriculum content and the key elements. At the behind,it added eight levels plus a special study of the target system achievements. There are more new breakthrough in the structure of curriculum in 1999, mainly due to increase in the theoretical exposition as well as the overall framework of logic and rigor. While the 2008 has significant changes in third stage on base of 1999,which was focus on developing students'ability. These are Britian has got achievements in history national curriculum.This dissertation is composed of an introduction and a text.Firstly,the introduction briefly concerns main purpose of the study and significance, research synthesis, research methods and thesis innovation. The text includes five parts. Part one clarifies the related definition about this dissertation. Part two analyzes formulate the background of the history national curriculum firstly;then focuses on introcuding the process of introduction. Part three focuses on four versions of the course content and ability target. Part four analyzes the feature of course content and ability target on basis of part three. Part five major analyzes the successful experience and inspiration, and this curriculum standards for our country formulate comments.This study indicates: high quality curriculum standards are based on sume theories and methods. The process of formulating and perfecting curricelum standards is opening and deveploping. It is important to give full play to the function of the curriculum standards and promote reform of related curriculum fields. The last point is the most important point is that its curriculum standards must be operable, otherwise it is a mere scrap of paper.
