At present, among the research on history education in different countries, the achievements of British research are worthy of our attention. The research on British history education is helpful to deepen our understanding towards history education and the nature of history study, enlarge our knowledge about history education, and provide a reference for our country's history education reform.This thesis discusses the problem of ability cultivation in British history education with the country's history education in the background, introduces the situation of the educational system and the history education reform in Britain, and emphasizes the analyzation of the attainment target demanded in the national curriculum for England. At the same time, the thesis pays attention to the research on academic papers and works on relative topics done in China, from which useful information is abstracted, and does some beneficial attempt and innovation on the basis of previous research achievements. The central part of the thesis is the discussion on common methods of students'abilities cultivation in British history education, from which the characteristics of such methods are summarized to lighten the development of our country's history education.The thesis contains five parts:Preface, in this part, the proposing course of the topic for study is introduced, and the summary of the research on British history education collected in the process of preparation is fully expounded, from which the significance and innovation of the research on the topic are proposed.Chapterâ… , starting from British educational system, this part introduces the background of British history education reform, and then, it describes the three developing stages of the reform in detail, which are traditional history teaching, new history subject, and the issue of the history national curriculum for England.Chapterâ…¡, first of all, this part makes clear the developing process of the establishment and amendment of the history national curriculum for England, and takes four issued history national curriculum standards as example; second, as attainment target is always the main line of the development of the history national curriculum standards, this part focuses on describing the attainment target system of the curriculum standards and its development.Chapterâ…¢, this part introduces and discusses the common methods of students'abilities cultivation in British history teaching. The author has chosen the common and representative teaching activities of history teaching from the authoritative magazines about British history education, and has translated them into Chinese. The materials contain the introduction of historical sources teaching, history extracurricular activities, history class discussion, and citizen education in history teaching in British history education.Chapterâ…£, this part combines the attainment target in the history national curriculum standards with the common teaching activities in British history education, and summarizes the characteristics of students'abilities cultivation in British history teaching. First, it analyzes the characteristics of the attainment target in national curriculum standards, and then it summarizes the features of ability cultivating education on British history subject, combined with values of history education, which suggest British history education stresses its social function and the combination of ability cultivation and education on the value.China is in the developing process of the history curriculum reform, and maybe the thesis will supply some reference for it.
