"Teacher as Researcher" has become education reform movement that has influence rather among nations now.It not only has important meaning to the change of teacher's role, but also is the effective path that promotes a teacher professional development.Based on previous studies, this paper tries to disclose the actuality of teacher researcher in the primary school teacher of Shanghai by survey and interview.The analysis of the data indicate that: The teachers who becomes researchers are currently still in the minority, and concentrate at the skeleton teacher's community of school; Big parts of the teachers who have the "researcher"'s character just taking part in the sim-research, don't be engaged in a formal education research.By the grading of the research, the primary school teacher's education research mostly approaches practice and lacks certain theories instruction.There are two main forms of research.One is that teacher can take part in a sub-project from chief project, the other is that teacher can combine the educational event with the research for solving the actual problem. The result of research includes thesis, case, report etc.. And the type and fixed position of school are the important factors which can influence a teacher to become researcher.The reasons which result in these facts are not only from the lack of comprehension about educational research and lack of support from the university, but also from the teachers and schools themselves. On the one hand, the teacher will play different role at the different occupation career stage, and the key subject they faced also has difference, so it's impossible that let them study any type of issue; On the other hand, the school as a small scaled society plays an important role in the process from teacher to researcher. Its situation and development will restrict the range of the movement.Founded on above reasons, this paper brought out related suggestion. Firstly, both of teacher and school should take educational research according to the staged point of the teacher occupation career,promoting teacher growth by research simultaneously; Secondly, based on self condition the school would choose the appropriate chief project, then arouse the teachers to join in the sub-project. It will build teacher's personal development and school construction win-win; Finally, the writer appeals the emergence of "Educational Research Mentor" to help the primary school teacher dealing with the issue in the research.The innovation of the thesis is that trying to open out various forms of primary school teacher researchers through survey and interview, and helping more teachers to discover their position in educational research. Let them know they are doing sim-research now and have the capability to achieve formal research.
