Shandong Province Mortality Estimates And Differences In Death Level And Cause Of Death

Based on revising and adjusting the data derived from the fourth and fifth population census of shandong province,we re-estimate the level of death populaition of shandong province in 1990s,and analyse the characters of the causes of shandong death population in the same time according to the data provided by health statistics department.We select three representative index of mortality,the sub-age mortality,the infant mortality and average life expectancy, and divide populaiton to 17 parts on the partitioning standards of prefecture-level city zoning in shandong province, to campare the level of death populaition on the basis of death population data out of shandong province population census data in 2000.Enrich the research on death about population in shandong province in 1990s and expect this research can become a reference for the research on this field in the future.We use retention analysis method to estimate the extent of omissions about shandong province death data recorded on the fifth population census book.Amend and adjust the data according to the relative error result estimated by above process.At the last step of this part, we re-estimate the level of shandong death population,and calculate the index, Average life expectancy,to represent the re-estimated result.The re-estimated average life expectancy is 69.5-year-old about male and 73.39-year-old about female,decreased 2.2 old and 2.39 old comparing the previous result without adjusting respectively.According to the Health Department's statistics,we analyse the cause of death in shandong in 1990s from three aspects including the differences compared to the situationin 1980s in shandong province,the differences on gender,differences in all age groups.Compared to the data in 1970s and 1980s,the stuation represented by two common index in the field of health statistics department,the constitution proportion of the cause of death and the rank of the cause of death, generate little change without effective contronl of infectious diseases.The mortality patterns of disease in shandong province has entered a model for developing countries.Greater degree of gender differences in the cause of death in still mainly on heart disease and cerebrovascular diseases,cancer,and accidental death. he cause of death in 1990s has shown two characteristics in relation to that in 1980s.The age accuring accidental death become yonger.Cardio-cerebral vascular disease is becoming a major cause of death in the elderly population gradually.Based on the population census data in 2000 of shandong province and division of shandong porvince, we analyse the interregional differences about the level of death in shandong use comparative analysis throught make life tables of 17 prefecture-level cities' population.We select three representative index to analyse the differences,sub-age of death probability,the average life expectancy,infant mortality rate.The infant mortality rate shows a "high-east to the west" feature,while the average life expectancy shows not obvious geographical distribution chracteristics.
