In recent years, with the ongoing promotion of informationalized education in higher learning institutions, various teaching methods and devices based on computational information are emerging successively, which have brought new perspective and vitality to the development of higher education. Yet these newly-emerging teaching approaches are never meant to be perfect on their own, and are subject to consistent perfection and improvement in order to better serve the practical teaching need.Multi-media teaching, the most popular teaching approach in domestic colleges and universities, has been widely recognized in the educational domain with its own advantages and unique effects, and become a key issue in the teaching reform campaign of higher learning institutions. Despite its popularity, however, many problems in its application pose as a block to the exertion of its expected effects and hence hinder the improvement of teaching quality in colleges and universities.This study introduced the theoretical knowledge of performance techniques, made a research on the theoretical characteristics and development of Multimedia Teaching in higher learning institutions, and adopted the ISPI Performance technology tools and other workflow models to conduct a comprehensive and systematic investigation into the existing problems.Taking one college in Shaanxi Province as a research sample, this study surveyed teachers and students for their opinion on present multi-media teaching and generalized the influencing factors from the following four aspects:teacher, student, regulation and environment. Tracing the origin of performance problems, and proposing intervention strategies, the author has conducted a test with his reformed implementation process of multimedia teaching plan in this college, and eventually improved the effectiveness of performance application.
