Nowadays, one of major goals of college teaching reform is to change the traditional teaching pattern with teacher as center, establishing a brand-new one in which not only teacher acts as an instructor, but also the students play a leading role. Correspondingly, the teaching content, the teaching tools and the teaching methods will be fully reformed. Such topics have become the heated one as how to use the modern advanced science and technology and tools to meet the needs of modernized education.The introduction of multi-media technology to the teaching has proved effective in other fields. But it is seldom applied to the marital arts teaching. The paper focuses on the effect that the multi-media has on the third elementary long fist teaching course. With the help of the various kinds of research methods and teaching tools, the paper is designed to make a comprehensive analysis of the student's grades of sports theories, grades of sports techniques, the total grades. The comparison between the subjects and the students who don't use the multi-media technology shows that the multi-media technology develops the student's interest in study and lays the theoretical foundation for the teaching practice, the teaching quality, and the teaching methods reform.The conclusions are drawn: The teaching through multi-media technology will (1) Improve the study efficiency in the certain time, transmit much more information to the students and at the same time broaden their vision;(2) Help student grasp the technical movement more quickly and more accurately, understand the main part of the movement;(3) Arouse the student's interest in study, alleviate student's burden;(4) Cultivate the ability with which student discovers, analyze and solve problems, improve their ability to study by themselves.It is suggested that the economy principle must be followed in the realization of the multi-media aided teaching. The multi-media teaching is inseparable from the teacher's instruction; Much work needs be done to explore the appropriate pattern in the multi-media teaching so as to put its advantage into full play.
