Nankai as a historical elite, One feature of the school outside well-known is the Nankai spirit. Fundamentally speaking, the Nankai spirit is the spirit of the school which has a unique personality through the formation of along process of development. The information available from the point of view, yet there is no specialized theorists systematic study of the occurrence and development of the Nankai spirit. This study examined the occurrence and development of the Nankai spirit from a historical point of view, in the predecessors of the scattered research, based on the spirit of the Nankai specialized, systematic research, to bring about modern schools are provided a reference to foster their own schools spirit.The emergence and development of the "Nankai spirit" is accompanied by the creation and development of Nankai School. Therefore, this paper mainly research method used in the literature and historical research methods. Historical research method is study of the "Nankai spirit" based on the order of the historical development, from the historical development of the Nankai school to explore the origin of the "Nankai spirit". Thesis mainly consists of the following components:The first part of preface, mainly leads to this theme of the "Nankai spirit", and a brief description of the issue raised and the main contents of this study; the second part literature review, mainly on the definition of the concept papers related and the analysis of the academic community on the "Nankai spirit" of the status quo. And on the achievements and shortcomings of current research to be summarized, which is the premise of the study to avoid a simple repetition; PartⅢis divided into the background of the "Nankai spirit", including macro-and micro-background, analysis of the macro-generated background of the "Nankai spirit" mainly from three aspects:political, cultural, economic, and micro-background is mainly Zhang Boling's experiences and ideas, his teacher Yan Fu's Educational Thought and the "Father of Nankai"——Yan Xiu's education ideas on the "Nankai spirit". This section will help us through a broader perspective to understand why Zhang Boling put forward the "Nankai spirit"; PartⅣis the history of the "Nankai spirit" before the liberation; PartⅤis the Inheritance and development of contemporary "Nankai spirit" and interpretation; PartⅥis the Enlightenment of the "Nankai spirit".
