The rise and decline of a nationality is closely attached to its language and words. Speaking from the perspective of the development of Mongolian's society and history, its language and words have played a significant role in the nationality's strengthening and the inheritance and promotion of its cultural traditions. As a way of thinking, a communication tool and a carrier of ethnic culture, Mongolian has always been an irreplaceable factor in the whole nation's development of intelligence, burgeoning of the national industry and the promotion of its people's comprehensive quality.Conducting questionnaires among teachers, students and parents in Tongliao City Horqin Zuoyihou County's middle and primary schools about their application of their mother tongue in teaching and learning, the paper not only elaborates on the undergoing changes about the situation during five years (2004-2009), but also probes into some existing problems in the area's ethnic education.
