"The way of the great learning involves manifesting virtue, loving the people, and abiding by the highest good." Students as the main and most active part of the university, their moral issues are even more important than knowledge. And how to guide them knowing, practicing or building morals, is becoming the responsibility and mission of each university educator.Although the present undergraduate's status of ideology and morals is positive, healthy and aspirant, but there still are some outstanding problems which concerning to intellectual moral education we long-term used in the past have to solve immediately. And as we all hnow, the modern undergraduates who are enjoying higher education do not lack moral knowledge but moral wish and moral action. Therefore, we should take the ecological philosophy as the world outlook and methodology, and lead in theory of ecology self-regulating mechanism to follow the law of man's moral cultivation. Then, we can give the students a free hand to support and respond their morals.In the history of our country, the traditional morality cultivation theory, as represented by Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, is the essence of Chinese culture for gestating the spiritual feature of Chinese nation and training the rule talent or social elite. However, it is not perfect. Human's moral development process is essentially a course which one adjust and develop self-moral level continually by coordinating contradictions between him and society. The role and function of self-regulating mechanism and human's good nature, self-consciousness, self-control characteristics and so on indicates that there are interlinked consistency between the self-regulating mechanism and the person moral cultivation. And compared to traditional moral cultivation methods, it is more fits moral education scientific principles and ethical develop laws, and more conducive to the development of moral ecology harmonious and subjective initiative. Thus, the self-regulating mechanism theory offers new idea and new way for the university students to self-cultivate and upgrade their ethics.The application of self-regulating mechanism in students moral development education requires us to emancipate the minds, renew the ideas, and form moral eco-philosophy and moral education eco-philosophy. It calls attention to the moral eco-environment construction, give full play to the role of the environment and educating people. It demands strictly holding the pass of students entrance and exportation, attached great importance to the ideological and moral quality of university students to review the identification, ensuring their thought health and good character on the line with candidates, employing ethical standards. It requires to set some moral examples, to play their model effects, encourage fair competition, promote moral quality and capability. It requests teachers both to have action, to dare to action, and do not act recklessly or unseemly, promotes university students' moral freedom, harmony, and ecology development.Finally, the application of self-regulating mechanism in students moral development education will certainly arouse the self-awareness of undergraduates'moral responsibility, enhance their ability to adapt to the environment and moral survivability, realize harmony of the moral cultivation process. It also has important practical significance, which helps overcome the shortage of the traditional theory of moral cultivation, so that further improvement to better serve the college students to cultivate the moral self-cultivation.
