Swimming exercise is a kind of systemic exercise, and it has all the efficacies that sun bath, air bath, and cold bath can bring to a human body. It can not only strengthen one's physique, but also help cure some diseases. The purpose of this experiment is to analysis how the long-term swimming affects the middle-aged men on physical shape, blood lipids, blood glucose, blood pressure, heart, fatty liver, BMD, and VC through the qualitative indices of the long-term aerobics, and investigate the functions of swimming on keeping physical fitness, avoiding illness, and treating diseases, and establish a foundation for the research which aims at studding the function of swimming in the Plan for Citizen Health.Experiment content:48 middle-aged men were taken as the research object, and they were randomly divided into four groups:quiet group, jogging group, badminton team and swimming team. And then analysised the change of the indices on morphology, blood lipids, blood glucose, blood pressure, electrocardiogram, SV, BMD, VC, and the fatty liver of these 48 middle-aged men before the training, and one or two years after the training, and then contrasted each one's indices with those in the same group and with people in other groups.1.Compared with before, after two years of swimming, there was no significant difference in height, but weight changed dramatically. But if compared with the data of one year later, the variations of height and weight were very small. Compared with other groups of aerobic exercises, there were still no significant differences in height and weight, but when compared with those in the quiet group, weight changed dramatically.2. Compared with before, after two years of swimming, heart rate, SBP, DBP and VC of the calm changed dramatically; compared with the data of one year later, there was no significant difference in heart rate, SBP, and VC, but DBP changed dramatically; Compared with those in the jogging group, there were significant differences in heart rate, SBP, and VC. Compared with those in the badminton team, both the heart rate and VC changed dramatically.3. Compared with before, after two years of swimming, there were significant differences in chest, thigh, upper arm skin fold, sub scapular skin-fold Ministry, iliac skin fold, waist circumference, hip circumference, abdominal skinfold, compared the data of two years later with the data of one year later, the hip, and the abdominal skinfold changed dramatically, compared with those in the quiet group, there were significant differences in chest, thigh, upper arm skin fold, sub scapular skin-fold Ministry, iliac skinfold, waist circumference, hip circumference, abdominal skinfold, compared with those in the jogging group, waist, thigh, upper arm skinfold, abdomen Skinfold changed dramatically, but there was no significant difference when compared with those in the badminton team.4. Compared with before, after two years of swimming, TC, HDL-C, and fasting blood glucose were significantly different, TG, and LDL-C changed very significantly. Compared the data of two years later with the data of one year later, TG changed dramatically. Compared with those in the quiet group, HDL-C and fasting blood glucose changed dramatically, especially TC, TG, and LDL-C were very different. Compared with those in the jogging group and in the badminton team, there were significant differences in TC, and TG, the other indices changed little.5. Compared with before, after two years of swimming, II,Ⅲ, AVF ST and V4-6ST levels changed dramatically, SV changed very significantly. Compared with those in the quiet group,Ⅱ, III, AVF ST, and V4-6ST levels changed dramatically, SV changed very significantly. Compared with those in the jogging group, II,Ⅲ, AVF ST, V4-6ST, and SV changed dramatically. Compared with those in the badminton team, SV was significantly different, but the other indices changed little.6. Compared with before, after two years of swimming, The mean BMD had significant difference, the data of two years later differed little with the data of one year later; but the data of the swimming group differed much with the data of the quiet group; compared with those in the jogging group, The mean BMD had a very significant difference; there was no significant difference with those in the badminton team.7. Compared with before, after two years of swimming, the number of people who had serious fatty liver had been cured, the number of normal people increased 150%. Compared the data of two years later with the data of one year later, the number of people who had serious fatty liver had been cured, the number of normal people increased 25%; After two years of aerobics, the number of people who had serious fatty liver had been cured, the number of normal people increased 75% in the jogging group,125% in the badminton team, and 150% in the swimming team, and the swimming team increased 42.86% more than the jogging team, and 11.11% than the badminton team.Conclusion:1. After a long-term training of swimming, the physical shape, blood lipids, blood glucose, blood pressure, heart, fatty liver, BMD, and VC of the middle-aged men had been effectively improved, and it was effective especially in improving body circumference, blood lipids, VC, SV, BMD. And it also had effect on treating non-alcoholic fatty liver. 2. After a long-term aerobics, the constitution of the middle-aged men had been improved and those in the aerobic exercise groups were superior to those in the quiet group, and among them all, those in the swimming team were the best.
