The continuing weakness of the coal market results to extremely few profits for coal enterprises. Unable to open more market and in order to survive, coal enterprises must saving costs in a long run. Therefore the most important issue for each coal enterprises is how to save costs. The main cost components of the coal industry, including production costs, storage costs, transportation costs, management costs and so on. short-distance transportation is belong to a part of coal logistics, and there are many scholars carried out a detailed argument on how to reduce logistics costs of coal, including the "highway and rail transport", "highway, rail and sea transport" and so on. But as coal logistics’"the first kilometer", there are few people study the issue of short-distance transportation. Based on Y group’s actual data in 2014, this paper focuses on Y Group’s short-distance transportation path by using the transport issues solving method to optimize the design, and calculate shipping costs in 2014 though optimizing the route of short-distance transportation, then comparing the optimized cost consumption route with the original route. This study can provide a reference for the Group Y by reducing short-distance transportation costs, as well as providing ideas and experience for the Y group’s next deepening management reform.
