Shanghai as a metropolis, the case of urban function of agglomeration, ease and update emerge in an endless stream, urban function spatial agglomeration appeared new differentiation and integration, mainly for urban function of outward ease and urban functional space agglomeration of the reorganization. The thesis consists six chapters: The first chapter is the introduction, put forward research questions from two aspects of theory and reality,explaining research significance, objects and ideas, based on it, made clear to the objective, method and so on; The second chapter, Advances in Domestic and Overseas,used the Citespace 4.0 visualization tool for quantitative analysis of the field of urban function from Web of Science and CNKI, to analysis and summary the status and trends on the frontier, key areas; The third chapter built the theoreticalframework about the agglomeration of urban function. Through definite the basic unit, kernel space and inter regional connection, discuss the basic principles of urban agglomeration, such as external balance, functional specialization and spatial homogenization, Analysis three kinds of spatial patterns of urban function cluster core, function combination and functional radiation area; The forth chapter built the method for identification of the boundary of urban functions, used the research methods urban metrology, and calculate the urban function sub class of dominance,urban main function of geographical proximity and agglomeration space boundary with the tool of Arc GIS10.2 and Matlab; The fifth chapter five is a case study based on industry agglomeration in Xuhui District, selection, to test the third chapter and the fourth chapter; The sixth chapter is the conclusion and prospect, classified and summarized the theoretical research and empirical research, and pointed out the problems.
