A Study On The Problem Of Poverty In Bangladesh

Poverty itself and its negative effects on the social economy will obstacle the development and progress of human society. In recent years, with the advancement of economic globalization, the world wealth has grown rapidly, but the poverty problem still exist. On one hand, poverty shows the obvious gap between the rich and the poor in developed countries. On the other hand, some poor people in developing countries are still worry about their food, clothing, housing and other necessities of life. Those undeveloped countries have a huge population and deep roots of poverty. Poverty alleviation and elimination becomes an important target of their national development.Bangladesh is one of the poorest countries in the world. Because of the worse natural environment and social situation, national economic development has been restricted. Bangladesh is a typical poverty country in the South Asia and the world. Bangladesh has a great amount of population and intensive population density. It also has tremendous poverty group. Both the vulnerability and severity of poverty are obvious. The poverty problem always impedes the economic and social development in Bangladesh. This article will shed light on the poverty in Bangladesh, and then analyze the cause of poverty in Bangladesh, consider the two aspects of domestic and international to analyze the anti-poverty measures and its effects. Finally summarize the future trends of poverty in Bangladesh and its enlightenment te China’s poverty alleviation work.This article will be divided into four chapters. The first chapter will outline the basic concepts and related theory of poverty problem, and list the standard of different measures of poverty. The second chapter will analyze the general situation of social and economic development in Bangladesh at first. Then base on the "Household Income & Expenditure Survey", which is released by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics., combine with other international poverty indicators, analyze the present situation and developing trend of poverty in Bangladesh. The third chapter will start from the historical origin and social reality to analyze the causes of poverty in Bangladesh. The fourth chapter will analyze the countermeasures and effects of the anti-poverty measures in Bangladesh from two aspects of domestic and international. In the conclusion, summarize the poverty problem and effectiveness of poverty alleviation and the future trend in Bangladesh. Then give some enlightenment on anti-poverty to China.
