This article is an empirical study about the strategies of internationalbusiness of small and medium size exporting corporation engaging ininternational projects. Since these kinds corporations are in shortage ofcapitals, talents and in low strength, How should they establish theircompetitiveness and develop the increasingly competitive internationalmarkets? This is a topic worthy studying.The subject of this study is "SS INTERNATIONAL ROJECTCORPORATION" which is an exporting corporation engaged in transferringmetallurgical technology, undertaking turnkey projects, exporting equipment& refractory materials, deputing Chinese experts for technical service tooverseas countries. This article researched its background, business scope andrapid developing process and analyzed its sector, market opportunities andresources using theories of "competitiveness analysis" and "value chain" instrategic management to study its business status and developing strategy. The author evaluated the strategy of this corporation and analyzed itslife cycle to identify the problems regarding its strategy. The author highlightsthe successful strategy of HUA WEI CORPORATION and its implications fordeveloping effective strategy in SS International. Based on the smile curve ofvalue chain, the author offers recommendations as how SS Internationalshould build its core competence and develop effective business strategy.Finally the author offers suggestions regarding how to build up the corecompetitiveness for future development.It is hoped that this study will offer useful insights to the internationalbusiness of small and medium project corporation.
