After over half century's endeavor, China's auto industry has developed into a relatively complete system with a full range category of products. As one of the pillar sector of China's national economy, the auto industry is playing an increasingly important role. After China's reform and opening up, since 1990s in particular, China's first three economic zones, Yangtse River Delta, Pearl River Delta and Bohai Sea Economy Circle are booming in their regional economy. In fact,they are the most developed regions in China. Auto industry is particularly critical to the regional economic development. The auto sector in Yangtse River Delta region is developing most rapidly with Shanghai as the leader. While Pearl River Delta region has a relative weak basis, it still leads the country with its unique economic climate which is attractive for foreign investment. Bohai Sea Economy Circle leads the country in total output with Beijing and Tianjin as the core, while the total value and the enterprises' scales are weaker than the other two regions. However, it's playing a greater role.Tianjin, as the core of this region, is blessed with obvious competitive advantages in the car sector. Therefore, it's of great significance to study on Tianjin's car sector.This paper can be divided into five parts combining practice and the basic theory, based on the real data and conducts a deep analysis on the auto sector of Bohai Sea Economy Circle. Firstly, the paper introduces the status quo of the auto industry in this region and important role as well. Secondly, it offers a comparison among the three big economic roles of their auto industry respectively. Thirdly, it predicts the developing trends of auto industry during the eleventh-five-year plan period. Fourthly, it elaborates the status quo of Tianjin's auto industry from multiple fronts. Lastly, it puts forwards some suggestions and countermeasures on how to develop the auto industry in Bohai Sea Economy Circle.
