Urban Land-use Efficiency Research

High efficiency and intensification is an objective requirement of sustainable use of urban land. It is also the need for achieving sustainable urban development. With the further acceleration in the process of urbanization, more land will be needed in urban development. Therefore, potential land must be taped and intensively utilized, and comprehensive measures must be taken to improve the use efficiency. Currently, in China, several problems still exist in using urban land resources such as: widespread expansion of urban land, irrational internal structure, low efficiency in land use, etc. Then how to solve these problems has become an urgent task.Taking Shijiazhuang city as the example, this paper analyzes the efficiency of urban land use and the structural efficiency of urban land use, proposes the measures for improving urban land use efficiency. There are six parts in this paper. From Part One to Four, it mainly describes the concept, the theoretical basis and the progress of urban land use both at home and abroad. And it simply introduces the basic conditions of urban land use in our country. Part Five—the focus of this paper introduces the basic condition of Shijiazhuang city's urban land-use, and analyzes the position of the condition in Shijiazhuang city's urban land-use efficiency in the cities. It also analyzes the information entropy of land-use structure in Shijiazhuang city through clustering the condition of efficient use of land resources in our 4 municipalities and 25 provincial capital cities. Referring to the status of urban land use in Shijiazhuang city, Part Six proposes the measures for enhancing the urban land-use efficiency.
