With increased competition pressure and diverse needs in modern society, more and more enterprises begin to pay attention to new product development(NPD). As usual, the process of new product development is constituted of a series of absolute and superposed phases, which is from the formation of product plan to the phase of product delivering to customer. In order to decrease the risk of failure and improve the satisfaction of customers, it is necessary and indispensable to seek a set of efficient methodologies in the process of NPD. So designers of NPD need a powerful tool to resolve these problems throughout the product development process.Both QFD and TRIZ can't single solve all the problems in the process of NPD. QFD only specifies "what to do" questions, while TRIZ specifies "how to do." Questions. Thus, this thesis researches the integration an application of QFD and TRIZ on the basis of the two theories.This thesis presents the method and idea of the integration with QFD and TRIZ from the application integration and information integration. And the thesis constructs the information integration model and application integration models of QFD and TRIZ. The information integration model fully plays the role of both the two theories in product design and achieve the shared purpose of information resources. The application integration model integrates organically with QFD and TRIZ in product design, and makes the two theories work together in the participation of the entire process in product design. Thus the integration theory absorbs the advantages of the two theories. The thesis presents the application model of NPD based on the integration of QFD and TRIZ. The application model is made up of two stages: information collection and analysis phase (Stepl) and application implementation stage (Step2).In the framework of the integration the thesis divides customer needs into three categories (basic needs, expected needs and exciting needs) with the help of Kano Model, and gives the relationship among the three categories of userdemands pyramid model. Meanwhile the thesis brings forward the evolution theory-driven approach and model. In addition, establish the transformation flow between customer needs and product attributes.On the basis of the previous two chapters, the thesis researches the obscure algorithms of the integration theory. Then apply decomposition theorem in fuzzy mathematic to achieve the transformation between product fuzzy quality and clear quality. Research the fuzzy classifications and the fuzzy assessment of customer needs. Establish the fuzzy algorithms to determine the principles of the invention. In addition, this thesis also gives the flow and fuzzy algorithms of product design projects, and presents an application example. Finally, the thesis applies the integration in the product development of retarder. In the framework of the integration theory , the thesis establishes four stage quality house in the whole process of product development, and gives the flows of establishing quality house. In addition, analyse and eliminate the existing design conflict of retarder with the material-field model in TRIZ. At the same time, analyse and eliminate the existing assembly processes conflict of bearings. The integration of QFD and TRIZ reflects the origin management thinking in product quality control, innovative thinking and the user-centred product design thinking. Overcome the overlaped phenomena of product design process, reduce the risk of product design, improve effectiveness and success rate of product design, save design resources and enable the integration and harmonization of design process. The integration meets the customer satisfaction fully , short the time of coming into the market, reduce product design costs and lay the foundation for enterprises to attain more profits.
