Regional Mice Tourism Development Model Study

The MICE(Meetings,Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions) tourism, which is called "gems of the tourism crown", has many advantages over the traditional tourist products, and is very popular in many cities and countries. It has a longer history and more perfect developing mode. However, the MICE tourism of our country is still in primary stage. It is in recent years that people pay much attention to it. Many cities in China are taking their advantages to develop MICE tourism. Kunming, one of the center exhibition cities in the west, is chosen as study subject in this paper to discuss development strategy and security measures.The research of the paper is divided into three parts:The first part is the theoretical research of MICE tourism. Firstly, defining the relative concepts specially the one of MICE tourism. Secondly, analyzing the reality between MICE and tourism, the conditions of the forming of MICE tourism and their economic function. Finally, explaining it's marketing theories.The second part of the paper is comparative research. Firstly, setting for the history and actuality of MICE tourism in foreign countries, analyzing the typical developing mode and educing the valuable revelations. Secondly, on the base of setting forth the history and actuality of MICE tourism in our country, analyzing the developing status of several main cities in our country and then pointing out the problems existing in MICE tourism in our country.The third part of the paper is case study. By study the social, economic, culture, natural geographical superiority and restrict factor of Kunming's MICE tourism, setting the own mode to Kunming, put forward a proposal to Kunming.
