Changshu City Land Use Dynamic Study

With the support of core database of the air photograph, TM and SPOT, and based on Remote Sensing and GIS, the research of the land use change in ChangShu was proceeded systematically and comprehensively , which was divided into several stages from 1982 to 2005.The thesis of following points:(1) Generalization of the study of change of land useThe main research content of land use, the research situation and development of domesticate and foreign research and the applied situation of GIS were generalized. And a conclusion of the recent research of land use in cities was drawn. It is evident that the reports of the small towns whose economy develop quickly and scale extent dramatically in the east of China is very rare and the research of the land use in the South of Jiangsu Province after 2000 is also very limited, the research of Changshu City from all the aspects in latest two years is almost blank.(2) Based on Remote Sensing and GIS the study on the land use in Changshu City areaBased on the acquisition and processing of data, a complete research and study of land use, quantities change, the change of location and the utilization degree of lands in Changshu City from 1982 to 2005 was made. Firstly a detail analysis of the utilization of land of Changshu City in recent 23 years is made among three periods(1982~1994, 1994~1999, 1999~2005), then the change of plantation, the change of towns , the change of transportation, the change of development of fish pools of Changshu City in 23 years are deeply investigated, and the relationship among the development of towns , plantation and transportation change is discussed.(3)Study on the sustainable utilization of land in Changshu city Based on the research results of change of land use of Changzhou city, with the conclusion the characteristic of land use/cover and the sustainable development theory, the strategic suggestions of sustainable utilization of land in Changshu city was made.
