In recent years,the system reform of central and regional research institutions is pushing ahead.Many research academies and institutes have executed or will execute operation as a corporation.Lots of medium-minor research-type corporations have been set up.But the pullulation and development of these corporations are not very successful.Most of them meet with all kinds of problems during their development.One of these main problems is the competitive strategy of these corporations,which affectsthe pullulation and grandness of them. In the paper, Shandong Sangle Solar Energy Co., Ltd(for short Sangle Corporation) is a typical medium-minor research-type corporations,which subjected to the Energy Institute of Shandong Acedemy of Sciences. So it has realism significance to find competitive strategy suitable to Sangle Corporation.On the one hand,if Sangle Corporation are developing well,it will inspirit and drive lots of coporations of Shandong Acedemy of Sciences and promote the successful reform of it.On the other hand,it will be very helpful to the strategy design of other similar medium-minor research-type corporations.In the paper,with Michael E.Porter's competitive strategy theory,the external environment and internal resources of Shandong Corporation are analyzed, which are engaged in the R&D, manufacturing, selling and fixing of solar energy water heater. It includes the general situation analysis of solar energy water heater industry in our country, political and juristical,economical, social and cultural, technical environment analysis,market copetitive framework and consumers'demand analysis, and the R&D,the state of operation,personnal diathesis ,corporation culture, sales network, brand management,product combination analysis of Sangle orporation,and so on.Combining with SWOT analysis,strengths,weakness,opportunities and threats of Sangle Corporation are pointed out. Differentiation strategy of keeping technology ahead and the focus competitive strategy are designed for Sangle Corporation. To implement the competitive strategy,many specified feasible supporting methods are put forword.It will be valuable for helping Sangle Corporation become a company with core competence.In the paper,case study and research methods to second-hand data are mainly used.With the research tools such as PEST analysis, Porter's Five Forces Model,...
