Based on the reviewing researches of the point method, the paper focuses on discussing the comparison of the two kinds of point methods and searching an appropriate description for the point method in theory. Analyzing the point method through the two views of economics and management provides it theoretical basic and scientific instruct. The author compares local point method which owns Chinese characteristic to modern point method that learns more from international experience in several directions. With the basic thinking of multi-dimension analysis, the author analyzes modern point method by two sides and four dimensionalities, and then raises the model of "M-3P". Finally, the paper makes a case analysis on putting modern point method and the model of "M-3P" into concretely exertion at enterprises. This paper points out that modern point method is more scientific and all-round, which considers not only Position but also Market, Person and Performance, so it is a better compensation system for enterprises.
