Structure Model Of Entrepreneurial Performance And Effectiveness Evaluation

During these years, Entrepreneurship has been a hot topic all over the word, attracting more and more researchers. Most of these studies focus on the same question: what affects entrepreneurial performance? Therefore, making a reasonable structure and appraisal method of entrepreneurial performance is of great importance. It helps increase the effectiveness of entrepreneurship-relative theory, and entrepreneurs can act better through this knowledge.This study concerns entrepreneurial performance, including the structure model of entrepreneurial performance and its appraisal method based on utility theory. Entrepreneurial performance is composed of financial entrepreneurial performance and non-financial entrepreneurial performance. There are four stages in this study. At the first stage, the author proposed a basic theoretical model and hypothesis concerned, based on literature review; At the second stage, the initial model was tested by an interview; At the third stage, about 200 entrepreneurs and managers from different enterprises were surveyed through questionnaires to test the model through data; At the last stage, the author maked a study of the appraisal method of entrepreneurial performance, based on the multi-attribute utility theory. The conclusions indicated that:1. The most primary financial measurements of the entrepreneurial performance include: profit, sales, return on assets(ROA), return on investment(ROI), return on sales(ROS).2. Non-financial performance is a multi-dimensional structure which is composed of employee commitment, customer loyalty, enterprise growth, group cooperation.3. The four dimensions of non-financial performance have different importance-ratios, and customer loyalty and group cooperation are the most important.4. The multi-attribute utility theory can be used to appraise entrepreneurial performance, reflecting the degree to which the new venture is successful.Finally, the author discusses these results, and points out the prospect and application, the advantage and weakness of this study.The research work was supported by the Chinese NSF project NO. 70572093...
