From studying the successful cross-cultural management of the KFC Corporation of China, this paper aims at illustrating that cross-cultural management has become one of the most important factors in a firm's international business, and successful cross-cultural management can create lucrative income and good opportunities when a firm is competing in international business. It describes the essentials and important meanings of cross-culture in a firm's international business, analyses some relevant factors that can usually influence the cross-cultural management, and also discusses how to perform the cross-cultural management successfully. Meanwhile, the author hopes to draw enough and wide-spread attention to the Chinese time-honored brand firms in fast-food catering industry and try to give them some advices.Chapter one mainly introduces the current situation and several characters of Chinese fast-food catering industry and points out that the successful cross-cultural management strategy is the leading factor for the KFC Corporation of China to be the top one in China's fast-food catering market.Chapter two and three primarily describe in principle importance and essentials of the cross-cultural management, analyze various relevant factors of cross-cultural management. Cross-cultural management is the important approach to enhance a firm's core and distinctive competences and the abilities of international competition. The firm should take into consideration the cultural differences when they do business with other countries in the world, use efficient cross-cultural communication in order to enhance its competitiveness, build up a learning organization and encourage innovation to cope with the cultural penetration and homogeneity.Chapter four focuses on the key factors enabling the successful cross-cultural management of the KFC Corporation of China.Chapter five analyses how the cross-cultural strategy work in international business, elaborates in detail the cultural penetration strategy, the localization strategy and the cultural innovation strategy, and renders countermeasures on how to perform cross-cultural strategy efficiently. In the end of this chapter, the author uses the famous Beijing roasted duck restaurant"Quanjude"as an example to give some specific suggestions to China's time-honored brand firms in fast-food catering industry.It is no doubt that cross-cultural management is supportive for a company in creating a predominant brand. Such being the case, the author hopes to give some advice to Chinese companies through this paper and help them go to the world market successfully.
