Western China External Trade Development

The foreign trade in Chinese western region has developed rapidly since Chinese reforming and opening to the world. But we can draw a conclusion through analyzing large volume of statistics and information: the speed of foreign trade in western region lags far behind the national average level, Though the increase rate of foreign trade in western region is high and the absolute increase volume is large in recent years. Western region's foreign trade still share little in national foreign trade and has a trend of reducing yearly. The other one is the structure of commodity of export and import in western region is not very reasonable, its export market is few, the dependence radio of export and the volume of foreign capital exploiting are small. This series of problems show that the overall developing level of foreign trade in western region lags far behind, the degree of opening to the out world is low, the ratio which foreign trade contributes to western region's economy development is low.We cannot deny that western region is possessed of lots of advantages in developing foreign trade such as natural resource, regional position, ethnical culture, environment, factor cost and history chances , though there are also several restricted factors which include undeveloped traffic , lack of capital, backward technology and concepts and so on. The developing space of foreign trade in western trade is so huge.But the problem is how to breakthrough all those difficulties and develop the foreign trade in the basic of utilizing their advantages, so that the foreign trade can become the engine of western region's economy development. This should start with three respects which include government, profession association and enterprise. One is government: firstly, the local government should build western region's traffic infrastructure rapidly; secondly, develop special advantageous industryand stimulate the export of product of these advantageous industry; thirdly, establishing fine environment for attracting foreign capital. The second one is profession association: firstly, these associates should perfect their own organization structure so that they can be using as a bridge between enterprise and government; Secondly, utilizing their information advantages and special status, performing their service function; thirdly, creating conditions, conducting enterprises go out to the international market. The third one is enterprise: firstly, pushing their own information building, transforming the operating way. Secondly, improving their product's quality and additional value, changing the increase form of foreign trade; thirdly, stringing the band, implementing band strategy.
