With the continuous development of market economy and the continued in-depth process of globalization, the traditional manufacturing industry is facing unprecedented challenges. Improving productivity and enhancing the overall competitiveness of manufacturing enterprises has become the consensus. Computer Integrated Manufacturing System (CIMS) is consisted of information technology (including computer technology, automation technology, communication technology, etc.), modern management techniques and manufacturing technology, which is also an effective way to promote the reform of traditional manufacturing and information industrialization and improve the competitiveness of enterprises. The concept of Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) includes the production design process, management decision-making process, manufacturing processes, product quality supervision, automatic control and other aspects of the process, using a variety of computer-aided technology and advanced scientific management methods to enable enterprises to optimize operation, so as to effectively enhance their overall competitiveness.In China, with CIMS-thematic work of 863 ongoing, CIM technology is being increasingly studied, developed and applied. The content of CIMS is also being expanded. In a word, CIMS has a great impact on manufacturing industry in China.This research is based on a project supported by Guilin Bureau of Science & Technology-Glass Products Enterprise Information Integration Technology Application and Demonstration. Guilin Jing Sheng Glass Co., Ltd. is the cooperation unit that provides the test production platforms.Firstly, combining with the status of Guilin Jing Sheng Glass Co., Ltd., the needs of implement of CIMS are analyzed. It is proved that the implementation of CIMS in Guilin Jing Sheng Glass Company is necessary. The direction of development and the problems may be encountered in the implementation process are pointed out. Moreover, the overall plan and the recent program of CIMS project are also being proposed. Then, the CIMS information integration of production unit has been introduced, and the structure frame of monitoring system of production unit was proposed on the basis of CIMS, the various types of information flow of production units has been pointed out, the integrated information parameters of required production has been presented, the applied method for parameters of industrial production has been proposed. Then, the implementation of real-time communication of information on the basis of TFTP has been produced in detail, FTP and TFTP protocol has been compared, and the reason for selecting TFTP has been presented. Meanwhile, Trivial File Transfer Protocol introduced (TFTP) has also presented in this paper which focuses on the design and realization process of production data of real-time communication software. Finally, the production of CIMS information integration of real-time communication has been shown in this paper.Through the preliminary exploration of CIMS project in Guilin Jing Sheng Glass Co., Ltd., the direction of information construction for some process industries, especially in processes manufacturing has been pointed out. The planning and implementation of CIMS can be important experience for similar enterprises. Meanwhile, this TFTP in real-time communication technology can be applied in both inside and outside the enterprise.
