Henan Province Based On Ecological Footprint Model Study On Sustainable Development

The assessment of State of development is one of an important part of sustainable development, to get the sustainability of development, we must maintain the stock of natural resources and sustainable use, to ensure that the needs of human beings is in the natural production capacity again.The ecological footprint as a new method of measuring the state of sustainable development is mainly used to calculate the size of a certain demographic and economic conditions,the necessary bio-productive area of maintaining resource consumption and consumptive waste compare with the biologically productive area of the national or area offered, judge the production and consumption activities of a country or region within the local ecological system, evaluate effectively sustainable development level of the target, and then conducive to the rational use of its limited resources, promote the economic and social development and the natural environment to maintain harmony.Based on the theory of ecological footprint model, with development characteristics of Henan, This article carried out the dynamic analysis of the ecological footprint and ecological carrying capacity from1980 to 2009. On this basis, its construct and analyze deeply the system of sustainable development about the ecological pressure index, the ecological occupy index, the eco-economic harmony index,the Sustainability index, the ecological footprint per ten thousand Yuan GDP, the following is conclusions:First, the overall ecological footprint per capita of Henan Province was increasing trend, a decreasing trend in the overall carrying capacity per capita, in the analysis of three decades at ecological deficit and unsustainable state, the forecast for future years also shows that the ecological footprint per capita will continue to increase year by year. Among them, Sustainable development of farmland was from strong to severe non-sustainable,the sustainability of forest fluctuated between the strong and weak sustainability,construction land was in the stronger sustainability, water and grass was the severely unsustainable.Second, from the perspective of expanding ecological footprint assess the sustainable development, the article build the system of sustainable development, and analyze deeply the ecological safety, eco-efficiency, wealth of life, the coordination of economic and social development and sustainability of the Henan Province in 30 years from 1980 to 2009. The results show that the past 30 years in Henan Province,rapid economic development, eco-efficiency has been greatly improved,people's consumption levels and living standards has been great progress and improvement, wealth of life significantly increased, however, the ecological pressure was increasing, the ecological security can not be guaranteed, economic and social development and resource utilization, poor coordination between environmental protection, sustainable development of the whole is greatly threatenedThird, for the results of analysis and problems of sustainable development in Henan Province, the article propose the following policy recommendations: based in the province, coordinating land use and ecological environment construction; attaching great importance to science and technology, accelerating the transformation of economic development; harmonizing urban and rural development, strengthening ecological civilization construction; controlling population size, improving population quality.
