Halfen embedded channel which produced by Halfen company in Germany is onekind of complex section steel. It is widely used in high-speed rail, nuclear power, tunnels,walls, large stadiums and construction of industrial plants because of the Advantages,Such as high strength, safety, easy installation, no welding, etc. Currently, domestic onlyproduct the simple cross-section of cold-forming C-section steel that similar to the Halfenembedded channel. The production technology of hot-rolled such steel has not yetmastered, so it mainly rely on import. In recent years, Halfen embedded channel is widelyused as a pendant in EMU production, promoting the development of hot-rolled C-shapedsteel, so there will be great market demands and application prospects.This article systematically introduces the section production in domestic and foreignand the status quo of Halfen embedded channel. Based on the original design, re-designedthe pass system of Halfen embedded channel, established the rolling and rolled piece'sthree-dimensional model by Pro/E software, simulated and analysed the filling of allpasses using DEFORM-3D finite element analysis software. According to pass designdefects, made the compared simulation on rough dimensions, the elongation ratio indifferent parts of rolling, locking position, leg position and size, all of which have affecton pass filling, rolling bending, angular shaping during the hot rolling process. Finally,found the more reasonable pass system and rough dimensions. Focused on analyze ofrolling force of each pass, metal flow pattern of deformation zone, the temperature field,the distribution of effective stress and the head and tail shape of rolling.Based on the numerical simulation, rolling experiments were carried out by usinglead for main passes. By comparing the calculated and experimental results analysis,bothmetal deformation and force energy parameters have achieved a good match, verify thepass system is reasonable, to provide a reference for the actual production.
