As a very important part of machine tool, the linear roller guide is critical to the machine precision. With the development of CNC technology, the linear roller guide is developing toward high precision, high speed, high load bearing capacity, high life , but the basic theory is not perfect. Therefore, to research the mechanical properties of linear roller guide is very important.This paper describes the structure of the linear roller guide firstly, and analyzes the contact between the roller and plane with the basic theory of contact mechanics. With Lundberg formula as the theoretical basis, the life prediction model of roller linear guide is proposed. In the third chapter of this paper, with the finite element analysis software, the stiffness modal of linear roller guide is proposed in the presence of preload and the deformation of rail and slide when the vertical loads and moment loads M_xand M_y. As in other directions, the stiffness is the same with the established model, so all the stiffness modal of linear guide is established. Otherwise, the stiffness modal of linear guide in complex loads is proposed, and the dynamic stiffness modal of linear roller guide is established. In the fourth chapter, the stress concentration of straight roller is analyzed, to reduce the stress concentration, a new theory to modify the form of roller is proposed with Johns-Gohar as the basic theory, this method have the characteristic of speed versatility and so on. In the fifth chapter, the principle and structural characteristics of the stiffness test machine, and the experimental results and theoretical results are compared, and the cause of the error is analyzed.In summary, the static mechanic analysis of linear roller guides and working platform is analyzed, and this paper has achieved some achievement.
