Liner rolling guide has been widely used in CNC machine tools as a kind of rolling component. Static stiffness, which is one of the most important parameters considered when selecting guide, plays a important role in carrying capacity and machining accuracy of CNC machine tools. This paper concentrates on control software design for the static stiffness test-bed, error analysis and algorithm improvement based on the experiment data, and influencing factors research through finite element simulation, which provides basis of the research on approach to improve the static stiffness of linear rolling guide.The static stiffness test-bed is introduced from the point of view of drive principle, measuring and controlling system, requirements for testing guides, and loading equipments. In addition, the static stiffness test method is also introduced based on this test-bed.On the basis of the static stiffness test specification for linear rolling guide and requirements of integrity and stability, the measuring and controlling software for the test-bed is developed, which includes several function modules. Besides, the operating method of the software is also introduced.The calculating formula for four kinds of static stiffness experiments is derived according to the test specification and the loading equipments. The experiment data is analyzed to compensate error and improve the calculating formula.The finite element simulation of the static stiffness of linear rolling guide is finished with ANSYS Workbench. Based on the simulation results, do research on the influence of the number, diameter and material of rolling balls, curvature ratio and initial contact angle on the static stiffness, which results on the methods to improve the static stiffness of linear rolling guide.
