Machinery manufacturing industry provides a variety of equipments for human survival, life and production, which are the very important basic industries in national economy. With the progress of science and the rapid development of information technology, the world mechanical manufacturing industry entered relying on information technology for the integration time, the traditional machinery manufacturing industry in our country has been unprecedented survival challenges. Mold design and manufacture of machinery manufacturing industry as the core of the problem, it has beard a greater pressure. Traditional, original design and production, heavy, inefficient, high cost has seriously hindered the development of mechanical industry. CAD/CAM technology was born to solve this problem. For the mold design and manufacturing industry to provide the best processing strategy, capture and processing solutions in a variety of technical difficulties, to achieve maximum economic benefits.CAD/CAM is a new technology which use computer-aided product design (Design) and manufacturing (Made) technology, CAD/CAE/CAM technology in the mold design and manufacturing process can reduce the production costs and shorten production cycle, improve production efficiency and economic benefits.This paper mainly studies how to use the Pro/Engineer and Cimarron software to analyze and study the mold design and processing of various key techniques, and apply to the mold production.This paper mainly completed the following works:First, analyses the quality characteristics of traditional mold processing industry design and processing.The second, against design and processing of mold surface modeling, research spindle computing problems and path of the cutting line in the NC programming.The third, analyze applies of tool in the multi-axis CNC machining surface, and study algorithm problems of five axis side milling flat cutter mold curved surface.The fourth, according to the production application, analyses the dashboard of a car model of the design process, process, machining and processing process, and conduct to software simulation.
