| Efficient and environment friendly home laundering have become the main technology research content. Improving the efficiency of home laundering can greatly reduce use of detergent, water and energy consumption, fitting the current concept of environmental protection. Application of ultrasonic has a long history on the cleaning of hard objects, and it has also been widely used in various fields of textile industry, but its application on fabric cleaning is few researched. This paper studied the effect of ultrasonic treatment on the stain removal from two important natural fabrics - cotton and silk fabrics. It will be as a consideration for the commercial development of home laundering methods.The efficiency of ultrasonic decontamination is highly related to the ultrasonic frequency, power, treatment temperature, time, and detergent concentration. In this thesis, the effect of stain removal from carbon polluted cotton cloth in different ultrasonic treatment conditions had been studied. The better ultrasonic treatment technological conditions is: ultrasonic frequency 28KHz, power 200W, treatment temperature 40℃, detergent concentration 1.5g / L. Compared to the warm water treatment, the ultrasonic treatment can effectively remove the carbon and oil stains on cotton cloth, and ultrasonic treatment had no significant negative effect on the mechanical strength of cotton fabric.In order to further study the effect of ultrasonic treatment on the stain removal on silk fabric, these common stains in daily life–red wine, coffee, Fanta and vegetable oil had been padded (dyed) on silk fabric, and then evaluating the effect of stain removal after ultrasonic treatment. It showed that the padding (dyeing) process used in this paper can prepare even soiled cloth which could meet the use for the study.As to silk fabric, ultrasonic treatment had good effect on three hydrophilic stains cleaning. After 10min ultrasonic pretreatment, it can achieve immediate home laundering effect or home laundering effect after warm water pretreatment. For the lipophilic stain, with the treatment time extending, the shade change was slowly increasing and then tended to a steady state. After 30min ultrasonic pretreatment, it can achieve immediate home laundering effect or home laundering effect after warm water pretreatment.After ultrasonic cleaning, DP grade of silk fabric were about 3.5 which can achieve durable press effect. The data of SEM and tensile strength showed that the ultrasonic treatment had less damage to silk fabric than the home laundering. The crystallinity decreased little after ultrasonic treatment, which will not significantly affect microstructure of fiber, and only influence the thermal stability of silk fabrics in a small extent.This study shows that ultrasonic treatment has a good effect on the stain removal from cotton and silk fabric, and with non-iron effect and small influence on other properties of fabric. It indicates that ultrasonic treatment has a great potential for the development and application of home laundering. |
