Vibrating screen, as one of sieving machines, got a rapid development in last two decades. It is widely used in several industrial fields such as mining, metallurgy and railway etc. The working environment of vibrating screen is usually severe because of its application fields. Additionally, long-time and continuous working condition makes main parts of vibrating screen under alternating load for a long time which is difficult to escape from different kinds of failure. With railway plays a more and more important role nowadays, the importance of railway maintains comes sharper and sharper, the quality of ballast is required higher and higher. So, as a main tool to sieve and select ballast, research on vibrating screen is get more and more attention. RM80screen machine from China Railway Large Maintenance Machinery Company is researched in this paper, which can sieve ballast in railway to recycle useful ballast and draw back useless ones.When the screen is working, ballasts get into entrance of vibrating screen by Mining conveyor. With high speed, the ballast impact into the screen which the impacting force would damage the screen and stop it working normally even delay the working schedule. In order to enhance its working efficiency, structure analysis should be done to find the weakness and therefore improvement can be done later. Vibrating screen is detailed introduced in this paper start from its classification and working theory. Modeling of linear vibrating screen of the research type is established and with ANSYS software a set analysis is done to the model by finite element methods:Static loading analysis, module analysis and analysis of time-history response. During static analysis, maximum impacting force of ballast to screen which is borrowed from the pre-analysis in the software EDEM is taken as the input to do the structure analysis. And in module analysis, first20natural frequencies and corresponding vibration modes are given. Dynamic evaluation to screen box is shown as well. And in Harmonic response analysis, the vibration force loading, calculation of vibrating screen vibrating screen stress strain nephogram and the first layer screen for feeding mouth cross beam connecting point displacement frequency diagram.Finite element analysis is firstly done to this type of vibrating screen in this paper. Structure analysis data is carried out by its structure analysis which can be a reference for future optimism improvement and research.
