In recent years, the rubber-modified asphalt has become the focus of the road engineering, for it can not only make a large number of waste tire recycled, but also improve the performance of the asphalt in terms of high temperature stiffness, low temperature flexibility, ageing resistance, endurance resistance and durability. However, most research have focused on its performance and use, but few studied on its preparation technology and production equipment, which are the focus of this thesis. This study will be of great significance and value.The research ideas of this papers are as follows:(1) Through the analysis of the modification mechanism of the rubber-modified asphalt, it will be used as the basis of choice of raw materials, the design of preparation technology and design of production equipment. (2) Through the comparative study of the two methods known as propeller mixer and high shear type mixer, the propeller mixer will be chosen.to design its preparation technology. (3) Taking an example of matching the 3000-type asphalt mixing plants, design the mixing and reacting tanks, which play an important role in the production equipment. (4) Taking advantage of the software FLUENT, simulate the mixing and reacting tank respectively, analyze the velocity of the tank, axial velocity and radial velocity distribution, obtain its flow conditions, and point out the problems of the device and finally put forward the design proposal of the improvements.â‘ Through the observation of the flow field at different speed and the simulation results of the radial and axial surfaces inside the mixing tank, when the agitator revolves at the speed of 600r per minute, the author proposes an improvement program by increasing the tank's height and the agitator's diameter. Then make a comparative study between the simulated agitator with improved design and the original design. Through the comparative analysis of the simulation between the baffled mixing tank and the one without any baffle, the author proposes the design program of the baffled mixing tank.â‘¡Through the observation of the flow field at different speed and the simulation results of the radial and axial surfaces inside the mixing tank, when the agitator revolves at the speed of 100r per minute and when the viscosity of rubber-modified asphalt varies, the author proposes an improvement program by using blender layer and increasing the diameter of the agiator. This paper will offer references for the production technology and equipment design of the rubber-modified asphalt.
