As the core of northwest province in China,Shaanxi province is the important energy chemical industry base and coal production base, then the cargo transportation demand is relative taller, as so far with the great development of the west area, the goods traffic on the roads of shaanxi has been increasing, and the freight vehicle increase naturally, then the overload assigned also become difficulty of shaanxi traffic development.Based on the modern transportation industry and the concept of sustainable development of transportation as the instruction, thorough investigation and collecting data, the thesis study the overload and oversize transportation in Shaanxi. Firstly, from analysis of the background of overload and oversize road transportation, the thesis summarized the basic knowledge about road overload and oversize transportation, and related the concepts and theories of road overload and oversize transportation, and from four aspects such as legal, economic, engineering and technical to define the attribute of road overload and oversize transportation. Secondly, the thesis found the present and problem of the administration work about road overload and oversize transportation in Shaanxi province by investigating the actuality of road overload and oversize transportation, and summed up the dangers and the forming causes of road overload and oversize transportation.
