Comprehensive Regulation Evaluation On Old Residential Community In The Background Of Livable Chongqing

Ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle said:"In order to live, people gather in the city; for the purpose of living better, people reside in the city." A livable city is the common desire of the human being at all times.In 2008, Chongqing municipal government puts forward the concept of five Chongqing - "Livable Chongqing", "Clear Chongqing", "Forest Chongqing", "Peace Chongqing" and "Healthy Chongqing" as the new target and pursuit of Chongqing. In this concept, livable Chongqing is highlighted. Livable cities have two meanings on the macro and micro levels. From the macroscopic perspective, the city should have a nice and livable urban environment; from the microcosmic angel, a livable city should have a beautiful urban landscape, spacious architecture, green landscape, warm and pleasant inside living surroundings.During three years, 30 million square-metres of the reconstruction of the city will be completed. While improving the living conditions of original inhabitants, various measures will be taken to strictly control the height and the density of the buildings, reduce the volume rate, and strive to increase public space for citizens. This paper aims to recommend an assessment system as a result of comprehensive regulations of residential areas under the background of "livable Chongqing". It will give a comprehensive evaluation from three aspects (residential properties, environmental quality, and residential humanities) as well as three fields of technology, psychology and spirit. Through an analysis of People's village regulation, assessment results after the reconstruction of the People's village area can be obtained. And through the evaluation of the case, we can know the comprehensive results of the regulation, degrees of residents'satisfaction, assessments of the performance and the general effects. With the help of the analysis of evaluation results, we can be aware of the emphasis and the weak points in the renovation and design of the old residential area. Therefore, we can have a definite object in view. Being a feedback process of design, it is also a reference and a suggestion for the design.In this research, the comprehensive evaluation system and methods on the renovation of the old residential area in Chongqing are tried, strategies and measures which provide valuable references to the design of the current renovation project obtained through the evaluation.
