The Eco-city construction is a hot topic today, which is the result of profoundreflection after the people come into the path of the industrial civilization. Thesustainable development is the inevitable choice for the development of the city'secological construction. The sustainable development models take into account thedemographic, environmental, resource factors, economic and social, focus on"natural - economic - social complex ecosystem "the overall effectiveness,requirements of the overall coordination of complex ecosystem, so as to achieve astable and orderly development goals. Nanning city is the political, economic andcultural center of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China, as with thesimilar cities, the process of development in the city also faced a number ofecological problems, such as the rapidly population growth, the traffic congestion,the shortage of resources, and the lagging economic growth mode. These problemshave largely hindered the city's further development to a higher level. So, thisarticle is from the perspective of city government functions, use of the sustainabledevelopment theory, the urban ecological theory and so on, the research route inaccordance with city planning - legal system - natural ecosystems - economyecosystems - social ecosystem, drill from top to down, proposed the viablecountermeasures, such as strengthen the planning of urban ecology, innovativemechanism of urban management, strengthen the building of regulations andpolicies, strengthen environmental protection, adjust the eco-industrial structure,cultivating the culture of urban ecology, in promoting eco-city construction ofNanning has some value.
