For now the number of college enrollment is growing, the volume of hydraulic test bench is large, it cannot meet every student to handle one. So the topic of how to doing hydraulic experiments using computers appears. This paper using "top-down" design method introduces the development of virtual hydraulic transmission system, relying on the platform of Labview; the further understanding of the virtual instrument development thoughts and methods is made through the specific design of three subsystems:the relief valve dynamic characteristics testing system. the hydraulic pump performance testing system and the throttling speed-governing system. The following are the main contents:One, the article summarizes the virtual instrument technology emergence background and its characteristics, and briefly introduces some nowadays results of virtual instrument technology and hydraulic transmission combination.Two, the development process of this virtual instrument development platform Labview is introduces in the article, the article also briefly expounds the development prospects of Labview.Three, the article briefly introduces the composition of hydraulic transmission system, it specifically introduces the hardware of testing and some basic principles for hardware selection.Four, the article introduces in detail the software design and implement of hydraulic transmission system, it also makes further understanding of the hydraulic transmission's related theories and basic design methods of virtual instrument through the software design of three specific experiments.The system has strong auxiliary function for the study of Hydraulic transmission, it is simple to operate the system and the intuitive is strong. The system has large superiority compared with the traditional test bench.
