LED becomes the fourth generation of light source replacing incandescent, fluorescent and high intensity discharge lamp step by step, for its outstanding properties, such as energy saving and environment protection. With the development of LED technology, the total power of LED is exaggerated rapidly, especially for the integrated LED light source, thus make the thermal problem more critical. The temperature distribution of a kind of integrated LED light source, LED projection lamp, was studied in the paper, using thermal circuit method, finite element method and experimentation method. The main contents are as follows:Firstly, the average integrated heat transfer coefficient of the fins on the LED projection lamp was calculated using thermal circuit method.Secondly, the LED projection lamp was analyzed using finite element method, according to the calculated average integrated heat transfer coefficient. And then the temperature distribution of the LED projection lamp under thermal steady state was acquired.Thirdly, the temperature of the LED projection lamp was measured under thermal steady state using thermal couples and infrared thermal imaging camera.Fourthly, through comparing and analyzing the temperature data acquired by FEM and experimentation, the FEM simulating results was proved to be accurate and the finite element analysis method was proved to be feasible.
