With the acceleration of urbanization, great change has begun in country. The society had faced a lot of problems. The traditional village, which is dominated by purely agricultural production, has no longer survived. In recent years, with the large number of rural labor who are transfer to the cities and non-agricultural economic developed quickly, a phenomenon,called inner decaying village appeared, which mainly behaves the center decays. The inner decaying village not only wastes the glebe resources, but also not benefit with the development of living environment. Now in the southeast of Hubei province, the problems are needed to be solved immediately.The full paper mainly includes six parts:The first part discusses the background, significance, methods, content and objectives. The second part is mainly about the literature data collation, analysis of the resulting inner decaying village in southeastern Hubei, social background, general features of southeast Hubei settlements, and described the changing environment of contemporary rural settlements. The third part, taking Shuinanwan village, Yuwu village, Yuemu village, Laowuchang village, Jiangyuan village, Baoshi village as the cases, based on practical investigation, aim to find the southeastern Hubei inner decaying village about morphology and life Style Features. The fourth part is about evolution of the inner decaying village and the reason of it. The fifth part presents proposal about update strategy of southeastern Hubei settlements. The sixth part emphasizes the necessary of solving the inner decaying village problem.
