Research On Public Participation Of Transportation Planning In Wuhan

As the urbanization accelerating, the demanding of transportation in Wuhan is rising sharply. In the case of infrastructure investment relatively week in urban and contradictions of the traffic becoming more and more serious, scientific and rational traffic planning is the most effective safeguard of the road transport system to achieve the anticipated target in Wuhan. In the various sectors of urban traffic planning, example establishment, implementation and supervision, the public should participate through proper channels to convey the public interest and embody citizens' rights. Comprehensive and thorough public participation is the effective way to ensure optimal allocation of resources in Wuhan, to strengthen traffic facilities and utilization, and to promote the Wuhan economic effective development.Wuhan is the research object in this paper. This paper mainly gives revising for the current evaluation of public participation in traffic planning area, and combined with the domestic and foreign experiences to puts forward relevant policy suggesting. This paper mainly includes: the general theory of public participation in urban traffic planning; the practice experience of the public participation in domestic urban traffic planning; the present analysis of public participation in Wuhan traffic planning; the reason of the low effect of public participation in Wuhan traffic planning; constructing mechanism of public participation in Wuhan traffic planning.Through research, and combined with the experience of abroad, this paper conclude that if wanting to change the low effect situation of public participation in Wuhan traffic planning, we must optimize the main of public participation ,perfect the operating mechanism of public participation, and improve the guarantee mechanism of public participation. I hope I can give useful reference for the implementation of public participation in Wuhan and other cities.
