Assembly line balancing problem (ALB) is the basic problem of improving the production rate. Mixed models producing in one line makes this problem more complicated. To improve the balance rate of assembly line is urgently needed by many companies.The research on ALB problem is mainly about methods of balancing.There are many methods about balancing:some are mathematical model methods,such as optimization method,and some are artificial intelligent method,for example genetic algorithm,annealing algorithm;some are methods of method study and time study.But these methods are not widely for different reasons.By integrated the advantage of Industrial Engineering, heuristic method and simulation method, this thesis gives a universal and effective way to solve the ALB problem.This thesis takes the mixed model assembly line of industrial robots in company A as research object.Firstly, the current situation of mixed model assembly line of industrial robots in company A is investigated and analyzed and then some factors effecting assembly line balance are find out;secondly, method study and time study are used to analyze and improved the factors.thus the basic data about assembly line balancing are obtained:standard operation time;thirdly, according to the types of assembly line balancing problems in existence and actual situation of the enterprise,use heuristic method to balanced separate of stations;finally, the computer software Promodel is used to simulation the problem, then select a better way of the schedule of the mixed model assembly line from different simulative results.
