The combat capability evaluation of weapon equipments is significant for its development and operational applications. However, the conventional combat capability evaluation methods are excessively dependent on expert knowledge and lack of stringency. Moreover, it is also very difficult to obtain the evaluation indices. To solve these problems, a combat capability evaluation method of weapon equipment based on nonlinear structural equation modeling (SEM) is studied in. this dissertation With the development of submarine in the tendency towards high speed, deep diving and low noise, antisubmarine warfare is becoming more and more difficult and complicated. Nowadays, aviation antisubmarine has become the leading operational style of antisubmarine warfare because of the diversity in the forms of search and attack of aviation antisubmarine equipment (AASE). In this research setting, the dissertation firstly analyzes the convergence relationship between the combat effectiveness indices and the combat capability indices. And then this relationship is transformed into an analytic model through a nonlinear SEM based on the combat effectiveness evaluation data. Finally, a combat capability evaluation method of the AASE is proposed. The main achievements are as follows.(1) A combat capability evaluation framework of the AASE based on nonlinear SEM is proposed.The basic structure and operational process of the AASE, the operational characteristics of antisubmarine aircrafts, searching equipments and attacking weapons are studied. Based on the concepts and the relationship between combat effectiveness and combat capability, this dissertation presents the combat capability evaluation framework of the AASE based on nonlinear SEM.(2) The combat capability evaluation indices system of AASE is given.The combat capability indices and combat effectiveness indices of AASE are presented. According to the relationship between combat effectiveness indices and combat capability indices, the combat capability evaluation indices system of AASE is given.(3) A combat capability evaluation method based on nonlinear SEM is proposed.The theory of SEM is studied. A SEM and a nonlinear SEM for the combat capability evaluation of AASE have been modeled to transform the convergence relationship between combat effectiveness indices and combat capability indices into an alytical models. In the following, the steps of combat capability evaluation of AASE based on nonlinear SEM are presented.(4) A demonstration example is studied.Based on the methods aforementioned and background of the call antisubmarine, various schemes of aviation antisubmarine operation are designed. And combat effectiveness data are obtained by simulation method. A SEM and a nonlinear SEM for combat capability evaluation of aviation call antisubmarine equipment are modeled according to corresponding indices system. Using LISREL 8.54, the unknown parameters of SEM and nonlinear SEM are estimated. Then the result of evaluation is obtained. Through the example, the feasibility and validity of the evaluation method proposed in this dissertation are verified.
