As a continuous bulk material handling equipment,the bucket wheel reclaimer hasbeen widely used in ports,docks,metallurgical industries,etc.With the development of portequipment to large-scale and automation,the efficiency,technology level and operationalcontinuity of the bucket wheel reclaimer production are greatly improved,but a faultdowntime will bring enormous impact and great economic losses to the port production.Therefore,to solve bucket wheel reclaimer malfunction in the operation,proposingsolutions is an important issue to protect the reclaimer safe production and provide thereference to design the type reclaimer.This paper uses KL-7-type bucket wheel reclaimer's boom institutions as theresearch object.To solve the fault which the bucket wheel reclaimer occurs in theproduction,such as the main structural part of the boom pole deformationinstability,boom vibrations and weld steel cracking failure has been used as a startingpoint.The finite element static analysis of critical components of boom institutions hasbeen completed by ANSYS software,through observing both the stress and straindistribution,not only be the boom institutions's on-site boom failure explained,but alsothe analysis provides a reference for the fatigue and steel structure safety performancetesting.The modal analysis of the boom has been completed.According to the results ofmodal analysis,obtain the reason that the arm vibrated.Establish a rigid-flexible coupled model of KL-7-type bucket wheel reclaimer'sboom institutions.The dynamic simulation and forced vibration analysis have been donein ADAMS.The simulation obtain the force curve of the main hingepoint,displacement,velocity and acceleration.Simulate really the vibration situation of theboom and obtain frequency which caused the arm vibration.Analyse fatigue life of themain steel structure of reclaimer boom institutions,calculate the boom's fatigue life andcompile the software which can estimate the fatigue life and provide the convenience forthe following prediction steel structure. Field stress testing in different working conditions has been executed for main partswhich bear dynamic load and some parts which prone to break down problems in dailyoperation.As a basis,the finite element analysis results were evaluated.Which doesimprove the credibility of the results of finite element analysis on;NDT was carried outon weld cracking,the corrosion of steel structure was detected.At last,the paper pointsthat the corrosion influence on steel structure stress and fatigue life.
