Diesel Power System Measuring instrumentation includes temperature instrumentation, pressure instrumentation, rotational speed instrumentation and electric instrumentation. The instrumentation helps inspectors learn about the operation condition of the system to ensure the safety and reliability of it. Due to the extreme adverse working environment, it is very necessary to calibrate them regularly to ensure its accuracy.An Instrument Calibrating System used for Diesel Power System was designed and developed in this research, which is based on embedded computer measurement and control technology, network communication technology and database technology. Because there are many kinds of instruments to calibrate, the system was designed following"universal"and"modular"principle and paid much more attention to the reusability to save time and cost.Instruments Calibration Station uses the STM32 MCU as the computing center, which is based on ARM Cortex-M3 core and in charge of data acquisition, system protecting, keypad scanning, digital displaying, data printing and communicating. Every Calibration Stations exchange data with the Instruments Calibration Information Management System through Ethernet and TCP/IP protocol. Hardware and software modules were described in detail in this article. The hardware modules include STM32 MCU, digital signal processing circuit, analog signal processing circuit and the network communication interface, etc. About software module, uC/OS-â…¡RTOS and RL-TCPnet embedded TCP/IP protocol stack with the transplantation methods were mainly analyzed. The operation mode, function, application field, operation principle and basic structure of each Instruments Calibration Stations were discussed separately in the article. At last, the Instruments Calibration Information Management System was analyzed, which was developed using Visual C++ and Microsoft Access database. The design philosophy and implementations of each software layer of the system were analyzed from these points of views: database design, database access layer, user interface design and communication application protocols.The Instruments Calibration System has been put into use and everything is in order. The efficiency of calibration is greatly improved.
